Effective 15 April 2018 until 23 March 2025, the US Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) imposed a denial order of export privileges against Zhongxing Telecommunications Equipment Corporation of Shenzhen, China (ZTE Corporation) and ZTE Kangxun Telecommunications Ltd. of Hi-New Shenzhen, China (ZTE Kangxun) (collectively, ZTE). Additionally, both entities were added to the BIS Denied Persons List, effective 15 April.
According to the US Department of Commerce announcement, Secretary Ross said, “ZTE made false statements to the U.S. Government when they were originally caught and put on the Entity List, made false statements during the reprieve it was given, and made false statements again during its probation.”
